Week nine: A spring in their step

Spring is making its first tentative appearance in Iowa, greeted with a hearty welcome from the Ms.Fits. “I’m hoping that the weather change will encourage us to move our walk outdoors,” says Kim, the team leader. She is definitely enjoying being more active even if she’s frustrated by her own on-again, off-again attempts at losing weight. Every little bit helps, we say. PDQhealth offers a hearty congratulations to the team for another great week: they racked up a total of 40 hours, 10 minutes of activity and lost another 4 pounds–even before the weather turned warm.

    I’m pumped about the nicer weather too — but even more excited that I’ve lost 15 pounds! Half-way to my goal of losing 30 pounds, which will get me to my ideal weight. I saw the article on PDQHealth about how having money at stake improves your likelihood of reaching your weight goal — so I placed a little friendly side bet of $20 that I can lose the second 15 pounds in the next 15 weeks. I must admit that it is an extra incentive. Not the money so much, but I really don’t like to lose! :) I guess time will tell — 15 weeks, to be exact.
